At the Southern Nevada State Veterans Home, we believe in honoring those who’ve served our country by creating a vibrant, supportive community where they feel connected, celebrated, and cared for. Volunteers play a vital role in making that possible.
Whether you love games, events, outings, or simply sharing conversation, you can make a meaningful difference in the lives of our veterans. Opportunities include:
- Adventure Buddy – Accompany residents on outings to the mall, movies, restaurants, or even the casino! Be a supportive companion who helps ensure comfort, safety, and fun.
- Game Guru – Play cards, chess, or puzzles with residents while sparking laughter, connection, and joy.
- Bingo Boss – Bring energy and cheer to our most popular activity by helping call numbers, celebrate wins, and share in the excitement.
- Front Desk Hero – Welcome visitors, answer phones, and provide helpful support as the friendly face of our home.
- Canteen Crew Member – Help keep our shop running smoothly, assist with small purchases, and brighten residents’ days through friendly conversation.
- Fix-It Friend – Put your handyman skills to use with small repairs, touch-ups, and light projects that keep our home looking its best.
- Event Volunteer – Support our special celebrations, from Veterans Day to the Fourth of July, and help create unforgettable moments filled with pride and community spirit.
- Tech Helper – Assist residents with phones, tablets, and laptops, helping them stay connected with loved ones and today’s world.
No special skills are required—just kindness, patience, and a desire to give back. Every volunteer helps us create a home full of joy, dignity, and gratitude for Nevada’s veterans.
