    Marketing & Communications Manager

    Marketing & Communications Manager

Volunteer | Remote | MarComms Team | ~5 hours per week

Includes: 1-hour MarComms Team meeting (Thursdays at 9am EST) + 1-hour Social Media meeting (flexible)

    Who We Are

Creshendo is a young and rapidly growing organization exploring how AI and automation can strengthen our communications systems. We are looking for volunteers who are creative, curious, and eager to learn new digital tools. This role offers hands-on experience with emerging AI platforms, content automation, and social media strategy, and is ideal for someone who wants to build strong, marketable skills in a changing job landscape. Volunteers who excel in this position may request a personalized recommendation from our Executive Director to support future career opportunities.

    Why This Role Matters

Public storytelling is one of our strongest tools for advocacy and connection. As our Marketing & Communications Manager, you’ll help shape Creshendo’s brand voice across platforms, ensuring our messaging is clear, consistent, and grounded in lived experience.

You’ll guide a small but passionate team working on social media, newsletters, storytelling, and outreach campaigns that highlight migrant and displaced communities. Your work will expand our visibility, strengthen our public presence, and bring more people into our mission.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    • You’ll work under the direction of the MarComms Director to ensure alignment with Creshendo’s communication strategy and MarComms Best Practices.
    • You’ll manage strategy and content schedules for the website, email, and social media channels.
    • You’ll collaborate with program teams to translate their work into engaging, accessible public content.
    • You’ll track engagement metrics and adjust strategy to increase reach, clarity, and community connection.
    • You’ll support a small team of volunteers to coordinate tasks, timelines, and content delivery.

    Who This Role Is For

You might be a great fit if you:

    • Have experience in nonprofit, advocacy, or social impact communications.
    • Understand how to connect mission-driven messaging with audience engagement.
    • Feel confident managing people, timelines, and digital content workflows.
    • Have strong writing and editing skills, especially for short-form content.
    • Can think strategically while staying attentive to details.
    • Are organized, collaborative, and motivated by purpose-driven storytelling.
    • Prefer clarity over chaos, consistency over perfection, and action over ego.

Bonus: experience with Canva or Adobe tools, ActiveCampaign, Metricool, or analytics platforms like Google Analytics.

    Here’s What You Get

    • Hands-on experience using AI and automation tools to streamline real communications workflows.
    • Exposure to global nonprofit communications strategy across seven teams and six continents.
    • A portfolio of work you can showcase for future roles, including social media content, campaigns, and system improvements.
    • Direct mentorship from leadership, with opportunities to learn strategy, branding, and storytelling.
    • A chance to experiment, build, and grow in a supportive environment that encourages initiative and innovation.
    • Access to trainings, templates, and digital tools used by high-performing marketing teams.
    • A written recommendation from the Executive Director upon successful completion of the role.
    • A meaningful opportunity to contribute to a mission that strengthens refugee and migrant communities worldwide.

Even if you don’t meet every requirement, if you’re passionate about impact, storytelling, and innovation—we’d love to meet you.

    How We Work

We operate with a G.Y.S.T. mindset: clarity over chaos, consistency over perfection, action over ego.

If you value thoughtful communication, follow-through, and collaborative creativity, you’ll thrive here.
