    Description

    Volunteer Curriculum Specialist

    Volunteer Curriculum Specialist

    Volunteer | Remote | 10–15 hours per week | 4-month commitment

    Who We Are

At Creshendo, we believe that everyone deserves a chance to belong, rebuild, and rise. We co-create solutions with displaced communities—always listening, collaborating, and centering lived experiences.

Fueled by integrity, empathy, and curiosity, we're building innovative and inclusive programs that reimagine what's possible for displaced people everywhere. If you're passionate about accessible learning, community empowerment, and creative problem-solving, you’ll feel at home here.

    Why This Role Matters

Learning is a powerful tool for healing, growth, and integration. As a Volunteer Curriculum Specialist, you play a key role in designing learning experiences that are culturally relevant, accessible, and trauma-informed.

Your work directly supports several of Creshendo’s flagship programs—including the Latinx Integration Workshop, Training-of-Trainers, Integration Learning Series, and the Women’s Entrepreneurship Lisbon initiative—helping participants gain confidence, skills, and a sense of belonging.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    • You’ll draft lesson content, slides, scripts, worksheets, and facilitator guides for multiple programs.
    • You’ll create culturally relevant examples, activities, and learning tools that resonate with diverse participants.
    • You’ll format and organize curriculum materials so facilitators and participants can easily navigate them.
    • You’ll integrate feedback from the Curriculum Coordinator and Training Delivery Manager to strengthen each version.
    • You’ll ensure all content aligns with trauma-informed, SEL, and culturally responsive principles.
    • You’ll collaborate with the Editor to refine and polish materials before delivery.
    • You’ll support content development across planning, drafting, and implementation phases.

    What You Bring

    • Experience in curriculum design, education, instructional content creation, or a related field.
    • Strong writing, organization, and attention to detail.
    • Understanding of trauma-informed and SEL principles—or openness and willingness to learn.
    • Ability to create engaging, clear, and accessible learning materials.
    • Bilingual English/Spanish.

    What You’ll Gain

Joining Creshendo as a Volunteer Curriculum Specialist means you’ll:

    • Shape learning journeys that empower Latinx newcomers and other community members.
    • Build hands-on experience in curriculum development across multiple program areas.
    • Develop creative, culturally grounded educational materials that make a real impact.
    • Collaborate with a supportive, inclusive, international team committed to thoughtful learning design.
    • Strengthen your skills in trauma-informed education, SEL, and culturally responsive pedagogy.

Even if you don’t meet every requirement, if you’re passionate about creative learning design, equity, and community-centered education—we’d love to meet you.

    How We Work

We operate with a G.Y.S.T. mindset: clarity over chaos, consistency over perfection, action over ego.

If you value thoughtful communication, follow-through, and collaborative creativity, you’ll thrive here.
