    Description

    We are seeking a skilled and motivated Grant Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in proposal writing and fundraising, with a proven ability to develop compelling grant proposals that align with our organization's mission and goals. This role requires excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to conduct thorough research. The Grant Writer will collaborate with various departments to gather information and ensure that all proposals are well-crafted and submitted on time. We also seeking volunteers with expertise in Business Grants and Social Enterprise Funding to support our organization’s mission. This role involves researching funding opportunities, developing compelling proposals, and managing grant applications to help advance our programs and initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong writing skills, experience with grant proposal development, and familiarity with fundraising strategies. This is a paid volunteer position designed to leverage your expertise in securing funding for impactful community projects and social enterprises.

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct thorough research to identify relevant grants, contracts, and funding opportunities aligned with organizational goals.
    • Develop, write, and submit high-quality grant proposals, including technical writing and program development narratives.
    • Manage grant-related documentation within databases such as Raiser's Edge or similar systems, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
    • Prepare detailed financial reports, budgets, and supporting documentation required for grant applications and post-award compliance.
    • Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary information for proposals and reports.
    • Proofread and edit proposals for clarity, accuracy, and adherence to funder guidelines.
    • Maintain ongoing communication with funders regarding application status and reporting requirements.
    • Assist in strategic planning efforts related to fundraising initiatives and program development.
    • Support contract management processes, ensuring compliance with grant terms and conditions.

    Qualifications

    • Proven experience in grant proposal writing, fundraising, or related roles, preferably within social enterprise or community development sectors.
    • Strong research skills to identify potential funding sources and opportunities.
    • Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce clear, persuasive proposals and technical documents.
    • Proficiency in using databases such as a CRM systems for tracking grants and contracts.
    • Knowledge of contract management, budgeting, financial report writing, and program development is highly desirable.
    • Exceptional editing and proofreading abilities to ensure high-quality submissions.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
    • Familiarity with strategic planning processes related to fundraising efforts is a plus.
