About First & Gold Foundation
First & Gold Foundation is a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access, opportunity, and equity for youth and families through sports, education, and community-based programming. Events play a critical role in community engagement, fundraising, and brand visibility.
Position Overview
The Event Manager leads the planning, coordination, and execution of First & Gold Foundation events, including fundraisers, community activations, tournaments, and partner events. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this role ensures events are well-organized, on-brand, and aligned with organizational goals.
This position is ideal for someone who is local to Charlotte, NC, enjoys project management, logistics, and creating meaningful community experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Event Planning & Coordination
- Plan and manage virtual and in-person events from concept through execution
- Develop event timelines, run-of-show documents, and task lists
- Coordinate event logistics including venues, vendors, volunteers, and materials
Brand & Experience
- Ensure events align with First & Gold Foundation’s brand and messaging
- Collaborate with the CMO and Brand & Content team on event promotion
- Support on-site experience, signage, and guest engagement
Budget & Logistics Support
- Work with the CFO and CMO to manage event-related budgets and expenses
- Track vendors, contracts, and event costs
- Support sponsorship activation and partner visibility at events
Collaboration & Communication
- Coordinate with internal teams, volunteers, and external partners
- Support event communications, registrations, and follow-ups
- Conduct post-event debriefs and gather feedback
Qualifications
- Experience in event planning, project management, or coordination
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple details and deadlines
- Comfortable working with vendors, volunteers, and partners
- Experience with nonprofit or community events preferred
- Flexible, proactive, and solutions-oriented mindset
Time Commitment
- Approximately 5 hours per week, with increased hours during event weeks
- Some evening or weekend availability required for live events
