    Description

Akshay’s Light is dedicated to empowering communities by providing sustainable support and resources to those in need. Inspired by our mission to spread hope and create lasting change, we are launching a new initiative: a print-on-demand (POD) service for custom clothing and apparel. This exciting project will allow our supporters to proudly wear branded merchandise, foster community engagement, and generate additional revenue to expand our programs and help even more people.

We’re seeking a passionate volunteer to help establish and launch this POD program, drawing inspiration from platforms like Printful, Bonfire, or Teespring. As our Graphic Designer & POD Specialist, you’ll create eye-catching designs and set up an online storefront. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with creative design skills to make a tangible difference—no prior non-profit experience required!

    Responsibilities

Research and recommend POD platforms (e.g., Printful, Printify, or similar) that align with our needs for quality, affordability, and integration.

Design custom t-shirts, hoodies, hats, and other apparel items featuring our logos, slogans, and mission-themed graphics.

Collaborate with our team to develop a cohesive branding strategy for the merchandise line.

Set up and configure the online store, including product listings, pricing, and integration with our website (https://akshayslight.org) or social media.

Test the POD process from design to fulfillment to ensure smooth operations.

Provide guidance on marketing the merchandise to our supporters (e.g., via email campaigns or social media).

                Qualifications

Experience creating t-shirt designs, logos, and graphics for companies or brands (portfolio required).

Familiarity with design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Canva, or similar tools.

Basic understanding of print-on-demand services and e-commerce platforms (bonus if you’ve used Printful, Bonfire, or equivalents).

Strong creative eye with attention to detail and ability to align designs with our mission.

Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently in a remote environment.

Passion for non-profit work and helping causes grow through innovative revenue streams.

                            What You’ll Gain

Hands-on experience building a POD business from the ground up in a supportive non-profit context.

Portfolio-building opportunities with real-world designs that make a positive impact.

Networking with our team and supporters, plus a letter of recommendation upon completion.

The satisfaction of knowing your work helps generate funds to support Akshay’s Light’s mission.

Flexible scheduling to fit your availability.
