    Description

Join Bigs in Tech! Mentor a Middle School Student [McClure]

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Puget Sound is looking for tech professionals to mentor 6th through 8th graders once a month through our Bigs in Tech program.

Bigs in Tech is a workplace-based mentoring program originally launched in partnership with Amazon, now open to volunteers all across the tech industry. Whether you're a developer, designer, data analyst, or in any tech-related role, you can make a meaningful impact in a young person’s life.

Students in the Bigs in Tech program are eager to connect with mentors who can help them explore STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math), build social-emotional skills, and gain confidence in their future. Through monthly, in-person sessions at local schools, you'll help your mentee discover new interests, set goals, and build a strong foundation for success.

The goal of Bigs in Tech is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships using a culturally responsive, social-emotional learning curriculum that integrates hands-on STEAM activities. The program follows the school year (September-June), and mentors meet with their mentees once a month for 1 hour during the school day.

    Current school sites include:

    • ORCA K-8 (Columbia City)
    • Broadview-Thomson K-8 (Greenwood / Greenlake)
    • McClure Middle School (Queen Anne)

Your focus as a mentor will be to share your unique experiences and support your mentee in building on their strengths. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Puget Sound is committed to supporting your mentoring journey every step of the way.
