    MNeurodivergent is a Minnesota-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to reducing isolation, fostering connection, and celebrating the diverse experiences of neurodivergent individuals. Through social events, sensory-friendly spaces, and inclusive community-building, we create safe, accessible opportunities for people to connect, thrive, and belong.

    We are a by-and-for neurodivergent organization, run by neurodivergent people for neurodivergent people. Our statewide network includes active communities in the Twin Cities, Duluth, Rochester, Saint Cloud, Mankato, Bemidji, and beyond.

    Position Overview

    The Regional Event Coordinator for Bemidji plays a leadership role in expanding MNeurodivergent’s presence in northern Minnesota. This volunteer coordinates local social events, mentors and supports volunteers, and helps establish welcoming spaces where neurodivergent adults can build meaningful friendships.

    In addition to planning and hosting events, this role involves recruiting volunteers, fundraising locally, and serving as the primary connector between Bemidji’s community and MNeurodivergent’s statewide network.

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about inclusion and community-building, who is ready to take on a leadership position in a growing grassroots nonprofit.

    Key Responsibilities

    Event Coordination

    • Plan and host at least one social event per month (average 6–8 hours/week).
    • Ensure events are inclusive, accessible, and welcoming to neurodivergent adults.
    • Gather community input to shape local programming.

    Volunteer Leadership

    • Interview and onboard new volunteers in the Bemidji area.
    • Support, mentor, and coordinate volunteers who help with events and outreach.
    • Foster a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and accessibility.

    Community Outreach & Fundraising

    • Build relationships with local organizations, partners, and venues.
    • Fundraise to support local community activities and events.
    • Represent MNeurodivergent at outreach events, resource fairs, or festivals.

    Collaboration with Statewide Team

    • Work with Board Members and committees (Events, Volunteer, Communications).
    • Report on local activities and contribute to statewide strategy.
    • Ensure consistent alignment with MNeurodivergent’s mission and values.

    Qualifications

    • Passion for supporting neurodivergent communities.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills.
    • Ability to recruit, support, and collaborate with volunteers.
    • Comfortable leading events and engaging with diverse participants.
    • Dependable and able to commit to ongoing leadership.
    • Lived experience as a neurodivergent individual is highly valued, but not required.
    • Previous leadership, event planning, or nonprofit experience is a plus.

    Time Commitment

    • Approx. 6–8 hours per week.
