Content Writers - Newsletter Content, Pet Profiles, Social Media

Have a knack for writing? The role of Content Writer might be a great fit for you, and we need more writers! There are so many amazing stories to tell, and we need your help! Our Content Writers get assigned to animal stories, newsletter pieces and more for social media posts and emails. This role is crucial to keeping the Safe Hands community up to date on our rescue efforts!

Qualifications:

• Experience in content development/writing
• Ability to manage regular deadlines
• Outstanding communication and organizational skills
• Desire to help Safe Hands Rescue reach more people through consistent, quality storytelling
• Ability to create, manage and grow relationships with other volunteers in order to write compelling content about foster animals
• Capable of evoking emotion via written storytelling
• A team player with ability and desire to effectively work with others toward a common goal
• Attention to detail to make sure things are not overlooked or forgotten
• Ability to effectively work with diverse groups of individuals
• Interest in and some knowledge of animal welfare issues as it relates to companion animals
• Must be able to handle the emotional aspect of work in an animal welfare environment

Specific Responsibilities / Tasks:

• Work with Content Manager on a weekly basis to turn the content they give you into a compelling update on the animal(s) for social media and/or email
• Write animal bios for adoption sites like PetFinder and Adopt-a-Pet that highlight an animals best traits
• As needed, communicate with Content Manager to ensure you get the info you need to craft a good, accurate, compelling story
