About Mentor A Promise & PromiseHousing
Mentor A Promise (MAP) is a nonprofit organization supporting children and youth ages 5–18 experiencing housing instability in New York City. While MAP provides direct educational and mentoring support, it also advances long-term structural solutions that address housing instability at its core.
PromiseHousing is MAP’s housing and real estate development division, focused on creating dignified, sustainable housing for families. Philanthropic investment—across foundations, corporate partners, and individual donors—is essential to launching projects, closing funding gaps, and sustaining impact beyond public funding.
Role Overview
The Development & Philanthropy Manager – PromiseHousing leads relationship-based fundraising efforts that support housing development and long-term stability initiatives. This role focuses on cultivating foundations, corporate housing partners, and mission-aligned donors whose values align with equity, dignity, and community-centered housing.
The ideal candidate is a strong relationship builder who understands philanthropic strategy and can translate complex housing initiatives into compelling, fundable narratives.
