    Description

    Seeking Board Members - Dinner Together Front Royal.... Treasurer

    The Treasurer plays a vital role in ensuring the financial health and accountability of the organization. This volunteer position helps oversee funds, budgets, and reporting to support our mission of serving individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.

    Key Responsibilities

      • Maintain accurate financial records and present clear reports to the Board.
      • Monitor income and expenses; track budgets against actual spending.
      • Collaborate with staff/volunteers to ensure adherence to proper financial practices and compliance.
      • Assist with annual budget preparation and financial planning.
      • Ensure timely filing of financial documents (tax forms, state filings, etc.).
      • Provide financial transparency to donors, funders, and stakeholders.
      • Serve as a member of the Board of Directors and participate in the decision-making process.
      • Manage the Dinner Together bank accounts

    Qualifications

      • Experience in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, or related field preferred.
      • Ability to read and explain financial reports clearly.
      • Strong organizational and communication skills.
      • Commitment to the mission of supporting those who are experiencing food insecurity within the community.
      • Prior board or nonprofit experience is helpful but not required.

    Time Commitment

      • Attend monthly board meetings (1–2 hours each).
      • Provide financial oversight and reporting (approx. 4–6 hours per month).
      • Additional time during annual budget preparation and audit/filing season.
