    Alumni Inbox Coordinator Remote Volunteer Position

    Dallas Pets Alive! is a highly respected animal rescue organization and provides the perfect place to utilize your skills to grow personally and professionally. Our mission is to promote and provide the resources, education, and programs needed to eliminate the killing of companion animals in North Texas - and volunteers make our mission a reality.

    As the Alumni Team Inbox Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in supporting our adopted pets and their families after adoption. You’ll monitor the alumni inbox to provide timely responses, offer helpful resources, and connect adopters with the appropriate team members when needed. You’ll also help share updates and "happy tails" with the broader DPA team to celebrate our lifesaving work.

    Team: Alumni Team

    Location: Remote/Virtual: Virtual from anywhere, understanding we are in the CST time zone

    Time Commitment: 5-10 hours/week

    Compensation: This is a Volunteer Position with no monetary compensation. After one year of service, we issue a professional letter of recommendation from our Director of Volunteer Management and Human Resources, as well as a LinkedIn recommendation(s) as applicable.

    Reports to: Alumni Director, Alumni Assistant Director, and Assistant VP of Animal Operations

    Works with: Alumni volunteers work directly with the Adoption Director and Adoption Assistant Director and other members of the Alumni Team. They will also initiate and maintain communication with our adoptive pet parents.

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Monitor the Alumni team inbox and prioritize urgent emails for Alumni Leads

    • Communicate with adopters and assist with record or documentation requests

    • Responsible for replying to Adoption Survey emails

    • Manage Alumni Attributes and Alumni Memos on ShelterLuv

    • Assisting with any other duties needed to help drive Dallas Pets Alive!’s mission

    Skills and Qualifications best suited for this position:

    • Knowledge of dog and/or cat behavior is a plus

    • Must be at least 18 years of age

    • Proficiency with Gmail and G-Suite applications

    • Fluency in English; bilingual in Spanish a plus!

    • Ability to operate a computer or mobile device

    • The following activities are required:

      • Comfortable using ChatGPT if needed

      • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.

    • Must not have conflicting associations with similar non-profit organizations or business(es) related to animal welfare.
