Serving on the Somerville Homeless Coalition’s Board of Directors is an opportunity to make a meaningful and direct impact on the organization, the community, and the ongoing crisis of homelessness and food insecurity. As a group, we are passionate about SHC’s work and we are committed to helping SHC succeed, grow, and fulfill its mission of finding everyone a home. We look forward to welcoming individuals who share this vision and commitment.

To succeed as a board member, you should be:

 Passionate about the mission of Somerville Homeless Coalition – finding everyone a home

 Committed to community building and to treating all people with dignity and respect

 Excited to build relationships within and across the community, including with donors, other non-profits, local businesses and organizations, community leaders, members of the public, and our clients and guests

 Motivated to create, cultivate, and support systems that make an impact on homelessness and food insecurity in our community

 Prepared and available to participate in the board through both meetings and committee work and

committed to making a personally meaningful contribution to SHC
