    Description

Are you ready to make a positive impact on your community and the world at large? The Worldview Project, a dynamic 501(c)3 nonprofit, is seeking dedicated and passionate volunteers and interns to help us "Promote Greater Cross-Cultural Awareness, Understanding, and Engagement." Our motto, "Many Cultures, One Humanity," guides our mission to bridge gaps, foster inclusivity, and celebrate the rich diversity that surrounds us.

At The Worldview Project, we believe that by learning about different cultures and perspectives, we can build a more connected and compassionate world. To further this mission, we are currently seeking a Schools Program Assistant volunteer or intern to join our team!

The Schools Program Assistant will directly promote our mission through our "Cultures in the Classroom" program, which currently provides elementary school students with an immersive educational experience in diverse cultures.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Work closely with the individuals who have developed the program, including our staff and local schools and educators.

    Qualifications:

    • Organized and exceptionally reliable.
    • Possesses excellent social skills, a professional demeanor and a collaborative spirit.
    • Project management experience is helpful but not required.
    • As this is an elementary schools based program, the Schools Program Assistant must be fingerprinted and background checked.
    • We prefer an individual who has the requisite time, but is not transitioning from school, seeking full time employment, or planning to leave San Diego in the foreseeable future.
    • This is a position of high responsibility and should be a great addition to your CV or Resume, but the candidate must embrace and have a passion for the Worldview Project’s mission to promote greater cross-cultural awareness, understanding and engagement.

    Benefits:

    • Make an Impact: A chance to be at the heart of cultural exchange and diversity among San Diego youth.
    • Grow Your Skills: Develop valuable skills in communication and teaching.
    • Be Part of a Mission-Driven Team: Join a passionate group of volunteers working to celebrate and promote cross-cultural understanding.

    Volunteer Testimonials:

    • by Ines R. (December 19, 2013) - The Worldview Project is an amazing non-profit with an exceptional staff and mission. The office is filled with wonderful people from around the world, which makes coming into work everyday a fun cultural experience. It is also a great place for networking, and learning new skills. I truly enjoyed my time at The Worldview Project, learning and growing professionally as well as personally. I highly recommend volunteering/interning at this organization!
    • by Ana P. (April 23, 2025) - The Worldview Project is an amazing organization. I’ve had the privileged of volunteering with them for 6 years (2017 - 2023), during my time with them I have met and worked with a lot of incredible people who were just as passionate and determined about sharing the wealth of knowledge and resources available for cross-cultural exchange in San Diego and beyond. Tom, Shari, and the entire The WVP board members are made up of educated, professional, kind hearted and sincere team members with wonderful ideas and projects to help make our local communities (and beyond) a better place to live in! Additionally, Tom and Shari have been an amazing source of guidance and inspiration in my personal career as I went from a post-grad student to a working full-time professional. They were always so generous with their time and friendship. I am forever grateful for the 6 years I spent volunteering with The Worldview Project family and highly recommend you check them out - you will not regret it!
