    Description

Gain hands-on experience in the world of hippotherapy! Work with a team of dedicated clinicians and volunteers and make lasting friendships. Contribute to a meaningful cause and see a positive impact on the children and individuals we serve. Commitment to one (or more!) scheduled speech, occupational, or physical therapy sessions on a weekly basis.

Horse Leaders Role: As a horse leader, you will be responsible for collecting the horse from its pasture or stall at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the scheduled therapy session, grooming, tacking up, and warming the horse up in the arena. During the session, you will be required to lead the horse according to the clinician's needs and guidance, read and check-in with the horse's cues and body language to manage behavior and ensure a safe, calm and smooth experience for all involved. We are looking for individuals who are confident around horses, have experience handling them, enjoy working on a team, and are passionate about helping others.

Sidewalkers Role: Sidewalkers provide support and encouragement to our riders during sessions. You will walk alongside the horse, assisting the riders through certain holds with balance and communication while fostering a positive and supportive environment. This role is perfect for those who love working with people and want to make a difference in someone's life. There is no previous experience necessary; training will be provided.
