The Ronald McDonald Family Room is located in the UNC Children's Hospital in Chapel Hill. Volunteers are needed to help provide a warm, friendly, and supportive atmosphere for families of hospitalized children. The room provides a "home away from home" inside the hospital walls where family members of seriously ill inpatient children can take a respite from patient care, while remaining only steps away from their child's bedside. Volunteers can work in the Family Room and/or the Hospitality Kiosk located inside the NCCU.
Volunteers should be at least 18 years old, willing to meet basic immunization and health requirements to be a hospital volunteer, and commit to volunteering once a week for at least 6 months. Undergraduate/graduate students are able to volunteer on a semester basis, please indicate you are a student to receive those details.
4 shifts available in the Family Room, offering a space for families of pediatric patients to take a break, grab a snack, or relax with a cup of coffee.
