    Description

    Organization: Idaho Youth Ranch – Hands of Promise (HOP) Campus

    Schedule: Seasonal; spring/summer projects

    Overview

    Irrigation & Land Restoration Volunteers help restore the “wildlands” of the HOP Campus by installing irrigation, planting grass seed, and controlling the growth of dry grasses and weeds. This role improves land health and long-term sustainability.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist with installing irrigation systems in wildland areas
    • Plant grass seed for erosion control and habitat management
    • Support weed control and maintenance efforts

    Qualifications

    • Interest in land management or restoration projects
    • Ability to assist with moderate outdoor labor
    • Willingness to learn and follow irrigation plans

    Impact

    This project strengthens long-term land use, reduces fire risk, and creates healthier natural spaces for youth programs.
