    Description

    Spay/Neuter Clinic Assistant

    Training takes place on-the-job. Sign up for a shift and a staff member or experienced volunteer will be assigned to train you.

    Have you ever wondered what it's like to be a vet tech? Get an insider's look and become part of an amazing team when you volunteer for SNCA! Spay/Neuter Clinic Assistants are responsible for a wide variety of tasks that make the vet techs' jobs easier, including:

    • Stocking to-go-home meds
    • Cleaning E.T. tubes (tubes used for intubation)
    • Prepping surgery pack materials
    • Recovery (monitoring dogs or cats post-surgery)
    • Sanitizing/resetting kennels at end of day

    Volunteers in this role must:

    • Be very detail-oriented and organized
    • Be able to complete work promptly
    • Work well independently AND as part of a team
    • Be able to take basic direction from staff, and work independently
