    About La Maison Baldwin

    La Maison Baldwin (LMB) is dedicated to nurturing a tapestry of voices inspired by the legacy of James Baldwin. Through writing workshops, cultural events, and community dialogues, we empower writers and thinkers to explore identity, justice, and creative expression.

    Role Overview

    We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented volunteer to support the coordination and growth of our writing workshop programs and assist with fundraising efforts. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization that celebrates creativity and social impact.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist with scheduling, registration, and communication for writing workshops.
    • Support outreach to community partners, writers, and participants.
    • Help research and identify funding opportunities (grants, sponsorships, donors).
    • Draft and edit fundraising materials such as letters, emails, and event descriptions.
    • Track donations and assist with thank-you communications to supporters.
    • Provide logistical support for online or in-person workshop events.

    Skills & Qualifications

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Comfort with email communication, spreadsheets, and simple project management tools.
    • Passion for writing, the arts, or social justice.
    • Experience with fundraising or event coordination is a plus, but not required.
