Volunteer Opportunity: Help Kids Build Confidence, Community, and Healthy Habits Through Movement

    About Iron Village Preparatory Academy

Iron Village Preparatory Academy is a small K–8 microschool grounded in academic empowerment, cultural celebration, and community engagement. We serve students through a relationship-centered, project-based model that values curiosity, confidence, and leadership.

Our WELLpower Program uses movement, sports, and wellness as tools to help students build self-confidence, resilience, teamwork, and joy in their bodies. This is not about elite athletics—it’s about helping kids feel strong, capable, and supported.

    Volunteer Role: WELLpower Coach

We are seeking a volunteer WELLpower Coach who is excited to share their love of movement with children and contribute to a school community that deeply values wellness, inclusion, and connection.

This role is ideal for someone who:

    • Enjoys being active with kids
    • Believes physical activity should be joyful and accessible
    • Wants to make a meaningful, manageable contribution to a youth-centered mission

Time commitment: One 40-minute session per week during the school day.

    What You’ll Do

    • Lead one 40-minute group wellness/PE session each week for K–8 students
    • Facilitate age-appropriate movement activities, games, and light fitness exercises
    • Encourage sportsmanship, teamwork, and positive self-talk
    • Create a safe, inclusive, and affirming environment for students of all abilities
    • Collaborate lightly with school leadership to align activities with student needs

This role is intentionally scoped to respect your time and energy. Preparation support and flexibility are built in.

    Who We’re Hoping to Find

    • Someone with a genuine interest in children’s wellness and physical activity
    • A positive, patient presence who enjoys engaging with young people
    • Comfortable leading simple movement activities for mixed-age groups
    • Coaching, teaching, fitness, or youth work experience is welcome but not required

Why Volunteer with Iron Village Prep?

    • Make a direct, visible impact on children’s confidence and well-being
    • Be part of a small, supportive school community that truly values your contribution
    • Share your skills in a way that is clearly defined, sustainable, and respected
    • Help model healthy relationships with movement for kids during formative years
