    Description

WeAFAR Global Justice, Inc. is a U.S.-based, newly formed nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting victims of cross-border fraud, scams, and exploitation. We have a big mission but a tiny budget at this time. We focus on digital evidence collection, data analysis, and awareness-building to help individuals seek justice and prevent further harm. Our work combines technology, research, and collaboration with global partners to expose and address organized online crime.

    Role Overview:

We’re seeking a Computer Science / Programming Volunteer to join our growing multidisciplinary team. This volunteer will help automate and optimize the analysis of cryptocurrency transactions and digital evidence across multiple cases. You’ll collaborate with our cyber investigation volunteers and data analysts to build simple but effective tools that streamline repetitive tasks, improve data accuracy, and help visualize complex information.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop scripts or lightweight tools to automate repetitive data analysis (e.g., wallet tracing, pattern recognition, CSV data cleaning).
    • Collaborate with cyber investigators on structuring and processing blockchain data for investigative use.
    • Support automation of internal data workflows (Google Sheets, APIs, and simple databases).
    • Create dashboards or visualizations that help non-technical team members understand patterns in data.
    • Recommend secure and ethical data management approaches.

    Qualifications:

    • Background or current studies in Computer Science, Data Science, or Software Engineering.
    • Skills in Python, JavaScript, or another scripting language (experience with web scraping, data parsing, or APIs is a plus).
    • Familiarity with blockchain analysis, cryptocurrency tracking, or open-source intelligence (OSINT) tools is desirable.
    • Commitment to ethical technology use and respect for data privacy.
    • Ability to work independently in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

    Preferred (not required):

    • Experience with open-source or API-based blockchain analysis tools (e.g., GraphSense, Blockchair, Etherscan, or similar).
    • Knowledge of Google Workspace automation (Apps Script or API integration).
    • Interest in social impact, justice, or cybercrime prevention.

    What You’ll Gain:

    • Hands-on experience applying programming skills to real-world justice and investigation projects.
    • Mentorship and collaboration with professionals in cyber forensics and data analysis.
    • The opportunity to make a tangible contribution to protecting people from global online fraud.
