Role Overview
We are seeking a 3D Game Programmer (Gameplay) with strong Unity and C# experience to help bring our game’s core systems and player interactions to life. This volunteer will work closely with designers, artists, and fellow developers to translate ideas into functional, polished gameplay features that support an engaging, mission-aligned player experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and develop assigned gameplay functionality using Unity and C#.
- Collaborate with designers to understand intended mechanics, player experience goals, and system behaviors.
- Iterate on gameplay elements based on design feedback, playtesting insights, and project needs.
- Ensure gameplay code is reliable, maintainable, scalable, and aligned with engineering best practices.
- Integrate gameplay features into the broader game architecture in collaboration with the technical team.
- Support debugging, optimization, and problem-solving throughout development.
- Contribute to clear documentation of systems, tools, and gameplay behaviors.
- Requires 15-20 hours/week
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience with Unity and C# (professional, academic, or hobbyist).
- Understanding of gameplay programming principles, player interaction models, and 3D game logic.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and willingness to iterate on features.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with designers and other developers in a remote environment.
- Interest in mission-driven or educational games is a plus.
