    Job Description Opportunity

    Reporting to the Executive Director, the Young Mothers Inc Social Media Coordinator is responsible for executing and managing the organization’s social media presence across digital platforms. The Social Media Coordinator supports consistent, mission-aligned messaging by developing, scheduling, and promoting content in collaboration with internal teams. This role helps ensure Young Mothers Inc maintains an engaging and professional presence across all social media channels.

    Responsibilities

    • Execute the overall social media posting strategy for Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter
    • Develop post copy based on ideation from the Social Media Content Calendar
    • Build platform-specific copy for Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
    • Provide sources within content where applicable
    • Research and apply relevant and trending hashtags aligned with post topics
    • Create flyers in Canva that align with post and story topics
    • Identify and use real-life imagery in accordance with YMI Branding Guidelines
    • Create, schedule, and publish posts using Buffer
    • Tag sourced images, journalists, companies, or featured women when relevant
    • Develop content aligned with program promotional direction
    • Create and promote events on Facebook
    • Announce events across social platforms with registration and attendance details
    • Promote events according to the Promotional Calendar
    • Insert event registration or information links into social media bios
    • Participate in required meetings and communications

    Requirements

    • Experience or interest in social media management or digital communications
    • Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter
    • Experience using Canva and social media scheduling tools preferred
    • Strong written communication skills
    • Ability to follow branding and content guidelines
    • Organized, reliable, and able to work independently
    • Comfortable collaborating with a remote team
