    About Pretty With Purpose, Inc.

Pretty With Purpose, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young women through mentorship and leadership development. Our mission is to cultivate a community of strong, capable, and resilient young women who are equipped to succeed in all aspects of life. We partner with schools to provide safe, inclusive spaces for personal growth and education.

    Position Summary

The Teacher Liaison serves as the primary link between Pretty With Purpose, Inc. and the host school’s administration and faculty. You are responsible for ensuring PWP programs align with school policies, facilitating student recruitment through faculty recommendations, and managing on-campus logistics.

This role operates within the MOCHA framework as the Manager (M) of campus relations and the Helper (H) to the Program Coordinator, ensuring that PWP staff have the access and support needed to deliver high-quality programming within the school environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    School & Faculty Relations

    • Communication Bridge: Serve as the main point of contact for the Principal, counselors, and teachers regarding PWP activities. Communicate schedule changes, room needs, and student successes to school administration.
    • Advocacy: Promote PWP programs (College & Career, Mentoring, Empowerment) to faculty to encourage student referrals and nominations.
    • Conflict Resolution: Address initial behavioral or logistical issues on campus, liaising between PWP leadership and school officials regarding student conduct or facility use.

    Student Recruitment & Engagement

    • Recruitment: Collaborate with teachers and counselors to identify young ladies who would benefit from PWP programs. Distribute permission slips and informational flyers to the student body.
    • Attendance Monitoring: Assist in tracking student attendance and academic progress (grades/truancy) to ensure participants meet PWP standards.
    • School Events: Represent PWP at school open houses, pep rallies, and parent-teacher nights to increase visibility.

    Logistics & Operations

    • Facility Management: Secure appropriate rooms/venues for monthly meetings and workshops at least 6 weeks prior to events. Ensure A/V equipment and custodial services are arranged.
    • Safety Compliance: Ensure all PWP volunteers and staff on campus adhere to district safety protocols, including visitor check-in procedures and emergency drills.
    • Food & Supplies: Assist in coordinating food deliveries for meetings, ensuring compliance with school rules regarding food in carpeted areas/classrooms.

    Reporting

    • Monthly Updates: Provide updates on school climate, calendar conflicts (testing dates, holidays), and campus needs to the Program Director by the 25th of each month.

    Outcomes & KPIs

    • Relationship Health: Maintain a positive working relationship with school administration, evidenced by approved facility use and active support from the Principal.
    • Recruitment: Ensure program capacity is met each semester through active teacher referrals.
    • Operational Smoothness: 100% of room reservations and A/V needs are confirmed 1 week prior to monthly sessions.
    • Compliance: Zero safety or policy violations regarding PWP’s presence on school grounds.

    Qualifications

    • Experience: Current or former educator, counselor, or school administrator within the district is highly preferred.
    • Knowledge: Familiarity with the specific school’s handbook, code of conduct, and administrative hierarchy.
    • Skills: Strong communication skills; ability to navigate school politics and advocate for student needs.
    • Commitment: Passion for the "Eagle Way" and the mission of empowering young women.

    Expectations & Commitment

    • Time Commitment: Estimated 5–10 hours per week, primarily during school hours for coordination and after school for specific PWP sessions.
    • Confidentiality: Must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) and maintain strict confidentiality regarding student records (FERPA compliance).
    • Role Modeling: Must adhere to the PWP Code of Conduct and Dress Code, serving as an example of leadership to the students.
