    Description

    Overview:

    During our free Baby Boutique Thursdays, Open Arms welcomes families to shop for baby items and connect with staff for additional resources. To help make this experience smooth and supportive, we’re seeking volunteers to supervise children in our play area while parents browse and engage with our team. This role serves as a backup to our main Boutique support volunteers and is essential for creating a welcoming, family-friendly environment.

    Shift Hours:

    Thursdays, between 9:30am – 3:00pm. Volunteer shifts are flexible within this time frame.

    Location:

    In-person at our office in El Centro de la Raza on Beacon Hill

    Tasks:

    • Supervise children in our designated play area during Baby Boutique hours
    • Create a safe, engaging, and welcoming space for kids
    • Support families by allowing parents to shop and connect with staff uninterrupted
    • Help maintain cleanliness and organization in the play area
    • Communicate respectfully with staff, families, and other volunteers
    • Uphold client confidentiality at all times

    Qualifications:

    • Compassionate and supportive of Open Arms’ mission and values
    • Friendly, flexible, and respectful of all visitors and staff
    • Experience working with children and diverse communities
    • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or exemption
    • Background check required
    • Availability on Thursdays during Boutique hours
