    Film Premiere Volunteers: 'The Land Still Speaks' Weekend Event (Jan 30-31)

    Join us for a special weekend celebrating Indigenous storytelling! The Museum of the American Indian is hosting the film premiere of "The Land Still Speaks" at the Margaret Todd Senior Center, and we need enthusiastic volunteers to help make this event welcoming and memorable for our community.

    Volunteer Perks:

    • Complimentary meal provided (Friday volunteers)
    • Welcome to stay and watch the film after your shift
    • Be part of an important Indigenous heritage storytelling project
    • Comfortable shoes recommended for all roles

    Friday, January 30 (Semi-formal/formal attire) - Red Carpet Premiere:

    Pre-Event Setup (2:00-6:00 PM):

    • Table Décor & Final Touches Crew: Help transform the space with centerpieces, table items, signage, and final polishing touches

    Water Service Prep (4:00-5:00 PM):

    • Cold Water Carafe Crew: Fill and stage 46 water carafes in refrigerators

    During Event (6:00-9:00 PM):

    • Guest Check-In & Seating Ambassadors: Welcome guests, assist with check-in and table assignments
    • Buffet Support/Food & Water Runners: Replenish chafing dishes from kitchen and refresh water carafes on tables
    • Photography Assistant/Runner: Guide photographer to planned shots, gather names/context (no photography experience needed!)

    End-of-Night (8:00-10:00 PM):

    • Clean-Up & Reset Crew: Tidy, consolidate trash/recycling, light wipe-downs, place dishes in caterer racks

    Saturday, January 31 (Casual attire) - Community Screenings:

    Morning Setup (9:00-11:00 AM):

    • Hospitality Setup Crew: Fresh table linens, centerpieces, juice station for hospitality offerings (acorn cookies, native popcorn)

    Guest Services (10:30 AM-2:30 PM):

    • Check-In & Reservations Ambassadors: Welcome guests, manage reservations and walk-in registration

    Hospitality Support (11:00 AM-3:00 PM):

    • Snack Replenishment Attendants: Keep hospitality table stocked with acorn cookies, native popcorn with smoked cedar salt, and juices

    End of Day:

    • Clean-Up & Reset Crew: Final breakdown, trash/recycling/composting, surface cleaning, return items to storage
