Position Title: Graduate Clinical Intern
Position Overview:
The Graduate Clinical Intern at Perez Therapy, LLC will participate in a structured, trauma-informed clinical training program designed to provide hands-on experience in psychotherapy and case management. The internship aims to expand access to low-fee, culturally responsive mental health services in the community while supporting the intern’s professional growth and aligning with Perez Therapy’s values and standards of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual psychotherapy to clients under supervision, using a trauma-informed, affirming, and culturally responsive approach.
- Support assertive outreach and case management for clients with social determinants of health (SDOH) needs.
- Assist with scheduling, documentation, and campaign support (e.g., LAPC Change petition).
- Curating and promoting community resources for clients served.
- Participate in intake assessments, risk assessments, treatment planning, progress note writing, termination planning, and collaboration with other providers as appropriate.
- Learn and adhere to outpatient private practice operations, including telehealth platforms, practice policies, and professional communication.
- Engage in structured learning experiences such as trainings, case conferences, and readings relevant to Perez Therapy’s clinical priorities.
- Receive and integrate feedback from supervisors, with regular individual and/or group supervision.
- Maintain clear, ethical, and legal documentation in accordance with licensing board guidelines and organizational policies.
Learning and Development Objectives:
- Develop core clinical skills and understanding of private practice operations.
- Gain experience in resource coordination and improving social determinants of health (especially for first-year graduate students).
- Receive consistent supervision and feedback to support clinical skill-building and reflective practice.
- Participate in program evaluation and provide feedback for continuous improvement.

- Increase access to low-fee therapy for clients, ensuring high-quality care and clear communication about the intern’s role and supervision structure.
