DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Program Specialist provides critical programmatic, data management, research, and administrative support for BoardLead and related initiatives. This includes supporting nonprofit cohort building, nonprofit and partner engagement, and other evolving program priorities. The Program Specialist may also support external relationship building and management, providing regular thoughtful feedback on systems and processes to improve our work. After 12 weeks in this role, program leadership will determine whether there is ongoing need for support.
The Program Specialist will be responsible for:
- Providing Critical Support to Cause Strategy Partners’ BoardLead program, including:
- Conduct outreach calls and communicate via email to inform organizations about various programs and services, answer questions and encourage participation
- Track and manage nonprofit communications and engagement data
- Review nonprofit applications and conduct research to assess their fit with programmatic goals and priorities
- Conduct interviews with nonprofit Board Chairs, CEOs, leadership, and staff to assess nonprofit needs and alignment with programmatic goals and priorities
- Participate in nonprofit selection processes by contributing data and insights from application review and outreach
- Supporting BoardLead data management and CRM system integrity:
- Consolidate and audit data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency
- Maintain and update organizational data within the CRM systems
- Generate reports, lists, and other data to support program delivery and decision-making
- Support development, preparation, and launch of new and existing programs and services, including:
- Conduct research on nonprofits, partners, products, and markets to inform strategy
- Research and identify nonprofits in new and existing markets
- Research professional and nonprofit membership and convening organizations
- Process nonprofit nomination lists for partners, and provide updates on application rates, nonprofit selection, candidate elections, and engagement outcomes
- Support development of training, webinar, and other session materials and reports, including tracking session registration, participation, satisfaction, and outcomes
- Document and share feedback on program and service design, implementation, and outcomes to support continuous learning and improvement of tools, systems, and processes
- Supporting ongoing internal and external engagements in partnership with the Cause Strategy Partners team
- Performing other duties as necessary and assigned
DESIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
The Program Specialist selected to fill this position will report into Program and Partner Success leadership. The individual selected to fill this important position will be expected to perform their work in accord with the values of Cause Strategy Partners. They must be adept at a number of core competencies, including:
- Highly efficient & organized self-starter: The Program Specialist will be expected to take responsibility for tasks and work both independently and collaboratively across teams. They will demonstrate the ability to manage workflow with a high degree of autonomy and with excellence.
- Technological proficiency: The ideal candidate is a fast learner, eager to embrace and responsibly utilize new technologies to drive our mission. Essential skills include proficiency with key tools, such as Hubspot (or a similar CRM) and the Google Workspace suite.
- Champion curiosity and collaboration: The Program Specialist will demonstrate curiosity, openness to learning, and collaboration, seeking new ways of working and thinking. They will be an enthusiastic, creative team player who embodies positivity and embraces idea-sharing.
- Strong verbal and written communicator: This Program Specialist will be an effective, clear, and professional communicator, with an ability to make quick connections, leave positive impressions, and build strong relationships with a variety of external stakeholders–especially a nonprofit and corporate audience.
- Possess social sector experience: Nonprofit governance is our passion; a familiarity with and understanding of the social good sector, either related to corporate social responsibility or nonprofits, is strongly preferred.
Please note the following expectations for this role:
- Remote Work Schedule: The time commitment for this virtual role will be approximately 29 hours/ week, Monday through Friday. A consistent schedule will be agreed to between the Program Specialist and their manager inclusive of Cause Strategy Partners’ core working hours of 10:00 am- 3:00 pm ET.
- Equipment and technology: The Program Specialist will be responsible for using their own computer, phone and other necessary technology. Google Voice services can be provided. All remote personnel are expected to have a computer system which can support remote work applications and meetings–including a reliable, stable internet connection.
- Employment Eligibility Verification: In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
COMPENSATION
The Program Specialist will be compensated $22- $25 per hour, commensurate with experience.
