    2026 Spring Primary Election – Daily Team Canvasser

    This Spring, San Francisco Rising Action Fund is building political power with working class communities of color and working towards engaging, growing, and activating our voter base in this June 2nd Primary Election.     Organizational Description:

    San Francisco Rising Action Fund is a grassroots political fund fighting for the interests of working-class communities of color, over corporate greed. We are uniting Black, Latinx, Chinese and Filipino communities from across the city to create a community-based political infrastructure capable of electing leaders who will achieve the bold solutions we need and stay accountable to us, not corporate lobbyists. We have a long-term vision for the city and we are in it together, for the long run.

    Job Summary

    The 2026 Spring Canvasser position is a vital role in our campaign for the June 2nd, 2026 Primary election. You will engage voters with key campaign messaging, focusing on working class issues and communities, and encouraging them to become members of San Francisco Rising Action Fund. Responsibilities include connecting with voters across San Francisco through in-person phone banking and door-to-door canvassing. We’re seeking candidates who are community-driven, highly motivated, and passionate about voter engagement. Training and scripts will be provided to ensure your success. The Canvasser reports directly to the Canvass Daily Team Leads.

    This canvass program will run from Monday, April 13th, 2026 through Thursday, June 4th, 2026.

    Role & Responsibilities

    • Report to Canvass Team Leads and/or Canvass Manager
    • Talk to hundreds of people daily through door-to-door or phone banking canvassing
    • Reach daily and weekly benchmark goals for the number of voters contacted and supporters identified
    • Ensure all data is submitted in a timely fashion and submit daily reports using designated outreach platforms
    • Willingness and dedication to learn about current political issues

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to work on Monday-Thursday 3:30 PM- 8:30 PM and some Saturday mornings from 10:00AM-3:00PM and Sunday afternoons from 2:00PM to 7PM.
    • Must attend a mandatory orientation and training on April 13th from 3:30-8:30pm.
    • Must phone bank or canvass on the correct date, time and location during designated times.
    • Must be able to use a cellphone, laptop, zoom, web browser and canvassing application.
    • Must adhere to script messaging, provide accurate information to voters, record accurate and honest data based on conversations with voters, and collaborate with team members to meet campaign goals.
    • Must have strong verbal communication skills as well as ability to connect authentically with Black, Brown, and other communities of color, as well as LGBTQIA + community members and allies.
    • Maintains professional and engaging conversations with community members and peers.
    • Strong commitment to social and racial justice.
    • Based in the Bay Area.

    PREFERRED

    • Speak another language in addition to English: Spanish or Chinese preferred.
    • Previous elections campaign or canvassing experience.

    Work Environment

    Physical Demands:

    • Able to understand and follow oral and written instructions;
    • Able to work on a computer including sitting at a desk for extended periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation;
    • Able to walk between houses for 4 hours with breaks with or without reasonable accommodation; potentially up and down hills and stairs;
    • Manual dexterity to operate a keyboard;
    • Able to see or read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids;
    • Able to speak clearly and in audible tones on the phone and in-person and be understood by others; able to hear and understand speech, including on the phone;
    • Able to understand and follow oral and written instructions;
    • Able to occasionally lift objects weighing up to 10 pounds, etc.

    Position Type and Compensation

    This temporary position is to end Thursday, June 4th, 2026. This is a temporary, part time position. This position is up to 30 hours per week. This position has an estimated rate of $26/ hour. This position is non-exempt.

    This canvass program will run from Monday, April 13th, 2026 through Thursday, June 4th, 2026 with opportunity to extend through the rest of the year.
