    Description

    Chihuly Studio seeks a Marketing Communications Specialist to join our team. Chihuly Studio is the family-owned business of world-renowned artist Dale Chihuly, where the Chihuly team is committed to a collaborative and passionate culture supporting the work, creative design, and excellent client service of our inspirational and distinguished artist.

    The Marketing Communications Specialist reports to the Design and Brand Manager and helps develop and implement key communications programs designed to promote the legacy of Dale Chihuly and support Studio business objectives. This role interacts both with internal teams and external partners to ensure consistent messaging across all channels and contributes to the development of digital content for website and social platforms.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Social Media Strategy. Monitors benchmark trends and audience preferences at the platform level. Analyzes website traffic and visitor interest and makes recommendations to ensure Studio platforms are adhering to best practices and optimization opportunities. Collaborates with the Design and Brand Manager, and Graphic Designer to develop digital strategies which support Studio communications and business objectives.
    • Social Media Execution. Responsible for the development and implementation of Studio social media calendar and YouTube. Selects and resizes imagery for platforms; drafts copy; secures approvals and publishes content. Collaborates with Studio filmmaker to develop compelling visual stories. Maintains brand consistency in design and messaging on each platform (e.g., updating current exhibitions, cover photos, etc.).
    • Manage Digital Audience Engagement. Maintain daily interactions with audiences on Studio’s social platforms to enhance and increase engagement and follower numbers.
    • Studio Newsletter. Works with Design and Brand Manager to identify subject matter for quarterly newsletters. Responsible for layout and distribution on deadline. Writes and/or secures content from Design and Brand Manager.
    • Website SEO & Content Development. Collaborates with team on SEO strategy for Studio website; implements data-driven optimization of website content and link building to increase rankings on all major search networks to drive traffic. Monitors website traffic and makes recommendations on new content to complement social media strategies and increase time spent by audiences on the Studio website.
    • Social and Web Monitoring. Flags opportunities and leads to sales and exhibition departments, as well as potential IP infringement and issues which may negatively impact the reputation of Chihuly or the Studio to Design and Brand Manager.
    • Partner/Client Marketing Material & Social Media Reviews. Facilitates the internal review of partner/client marketing materials. Receives and routes materials to stakeholders and ensures delivery by stated deadlines.
    • Studio Communications Calendar. Meets with internal stakeholders monthly and maintains department calendar of notable projects and activations.
    • Exhibition Opening Materials. Responsible for the development of communications materials in support of exhibitions, including Fact Sheets and Training Presentations. Delivers PR-approved photography and captions, b-roll, and short films to exhibition partners.
    • Participates in monthly PR meetings and supports PR campaigns and activations as instructed by Design and Brand Manager.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Experience managing digital campaigns or initiatives that reinforce or build brand equity.
    • Solid understanding of marketing and social media strategies and best practices.
    • Ability to understand and maintain the highest levels of confidentiality.
    • Ability to adapt insights into relevant consumer-facing digital and social media strategies and activations.
    • Skill and efficiency in Microsoft programs. Adobe Photoshop and video editing tools.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have excellent spelling and grammar.
    • Solid knowledge and understanding of digital and media analytics, and the ability to generate, analyze and interpret data.
    • Flexibility and capable of dealing with ambiguity and rapidly changing priorities.
    • Ability to think both strategically and tactically and comfortable doing both kinds of work.
    • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
    • Self-motivated, team player, able to work independently, with instruction.
    • Must be able to apply critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
