Fighting for Workers

Your job will be to add value to cases through your care, diligence, bold writing, persistence, detective work, and creativity. We are seeking an Associate with 1–5 years of litigation experience; clerkship experience counts towards this. You will be involved in all stages of employment litigation, including:

• Evaluating potential cases and conducting client intakes;
• Developing case strategy;
• Drafting pleadings and mastering the discovery process--through informal and formal
• discovery;
• Taking and defending depositions;
• Drafting and arguing dispositive and other substantive motions;
• Mediations and settlement negotiations;
• Jury trials;
• Appellate work and making good law;
• Maintaining close and meaningful relationships with clients throughout their cases; and
• Managing and directing staff employees.

Is This You?

• You have a bar license in New York and/or Missouri.
• You may have done a judicial clerkship (highly valued, but not required);
• You have demonstrated passion for workers’ rights, civil rights, and economic justice;
• You value honesty, logic, precision, and critical thinking;
• You live a positive, caring approach to clients;You demonstrate intellectual curiosity and sound judgment;
• You relish a fast-paced, busy practice and getting projects done efficiently but with
• collaboration;
• You are creative and and look for creative ways to add value;
• You look forward to winning novel legal arguments and winning jury trials;
• You understand the activist nature of plaintiff-side work and may have a background in
• community or campus activism;
• You identify as having 'grit.'
