The Hospice volunteer is a plays a pivotal role in the provision of services to patient and families. The volunteer provide direct patient care services to the terminally ill and their families. Duties may include various forms of assistance, comfort measure, supporting services such as reading or writing for the patient, sitting at bedside, especially during the dying process and respite families.
Other volunteer opportunites include an administrative role with clericial work, filing and answering phones. Other duties could include mailing invitations, announcements, writing thank you or sympathy notes.
