    New Mainstream Media consists of Metro Chinese Weekly founded 2007, Metro Viet News founded 2008, Metro Korean founded in 2021, and WeChat-hosted channel PhillyGuide in 2016 (45K+ subscribers), and multiple publications (digital and print) that serve the information needs of three of the largest Asian American communities in Philadelphia. We cover topics that have a profound impact on these communities: civic engagement and voting, public health and covid-19, hate crimes and gun violence, and commercial development and small business.

    We collaborate with WHYY, Lenfest Institute, and Independence Media Foundation on reporting projects to ensure a robust independent media presence in the region.
