Envest Microfinance

Envest is a for-profit microfinance fund manager located in Madison, Wisconsin that issues loans to microfinance institutions (MFIs) in developing countries. Envest’s mission is to reduce poverty and promote the development of a sustainable economy by connecting microfinance institutions to financial markets. The Envest team is dedicated to using financially sound market mechanisms to create a more environmentally sustainable and socially just economy.

Currently, Envest’s portfolio is approximately $10 million with investments in 20 MFIs in 12 countries: Colombia, Honduras, India, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Kenya, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Moldova, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan. In addition to managing and growing the Envest portfolio, the team also strives to break down legal and structural barriers that currently constrict growth in the microfinance industry.
