About Us
Brave Philanthropist is a project to redefine what philanthropy looks like by highlighting stories of female philanthropists and providing tools to make charitable giving more accessible.
Women hold 40% of global wealth and are more likely to give to charitable organizations. Yet, (and as I'm sure you know) women’s and girls’ organizations receive less than 2% of philanthropic support, and women and girls of color receive fractional support with .05% of philanthropic donations. To change that, research shows that we need to unlock more philanthropic support from female donors, inspire more women to be philanthropists, and strengthen the impact and visibility of women’s philanthropy. The Brave Philanthropist project is a grassroots movement that aims to do exactly that.
