Amedisys Hospice
Mission
Amedisys Hospice is a for profit hospice that maintains license to provide Hospice services in designated states. As a Medicare certified hospice, we contract with other health care facilities and agencies for impatient services. Amedisys provides hospice care to patients and families for the palliation and management of terminal illnesses and related conditions. The care optimizes comfort and dignity and is consistent with the patient and family needs and goals. The service are available 24 hours a day, sever days a week regardless of patient setting or funding.
About Us
Hospice care is offered to patients and families in private homes, to those in nursing facilities where a valid contract is in place, and to those opting for admission to contracted hospice units. As a community based agency, Amedisys hospice is committed to providing proper care of the dying patient and his/her family as well as education for the community regarding Hospice. The philosophy is to meet the needs of the terminally ill patients and their families and to facilitate living life to the fullest measure possible with dignity, comfort, and being pain free as possible. Amedisys provides services through the interdisciplinary approach of nursing, medical social work, chaplain, bereavement counseling and volunteers.
