Mark Skallman and Betty Skallman, the owners of Day-Star School have lived and worked in Honduras since 1980.
The administration/ownership of Day-Star School is North American and the principals (Directors) are Honduran. The principal language of instruction at Day-Star School is English. The school follows United States and Common Core curriculum and uses United States based teaching materials. We firmly believe in the importance of the teachers role in exposing students to as much English as possible in the school environment.
Our mission is to provide a quality education that will contribute to the improvement of our community. We are aware of the limitations that exist in our region and that life in Honduras can be at times unpredictable. We are looking for teachers that share our ideals, understand the limitations of the community we live in and will help us continue to meet our goals.
