Rewear Closet

Rewear Closet is a South African fashion-tech startup building the operating system for the modern wardrobe. We are dedicated to solving one of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time: the destructive cycle of fast fashion and textile waste.

Our Social & Environmental Mission: The fashion industry is currently responsible for approximately 10% of global carbon emissions. The Black Hole of modern closets, where up to 80% of items remain unworn, fuels a consumerist culture that ends in landfills. Rewear Closet is tackling this via two core pillars:

1. Circular Education: We empower users to transition from impulsive shoppers to conscious curators by providing data-driven visibility into their own wardrobes. By tracking usage patterns, we help our community extract maximum value from the clothes they already own, significantly reducing the demand for new, fast-fashion production.
2. Tech-Enabled Sustainability: We are developing an AI-driven smart ecosystem that utilizes computer vision to passively track wardrobe habits. By providing a natural, daily touchpoint for conscious decision-making, we are lowering the barrier to entry for circular fashion and helping users build sustainable style habits without the friction of manual logging.

Our Approach: As a mission-driven business, we prioritize radical transparency and circularity. We are currently building a founding team and a community of testers to validate our styling logic and circular frameworks. Our goal is to transform the South African retail landscape by proving that high-tech innovation can and should be the most effective tool we have to combat textile waste and promote a sustainable, long-term fashion economy.
