    About Us

Mango Tree Counseling & Consulting is a mental health resource center which centers its efforts on the needs of the Asian-American Community in the Philadelphia Metro area and Pennsylvania at large. We provide healing-centered approaches towards mental health wellness and support to our communities in finding a home in their bodies, minds, and communities.

    Statement on Intersectionality

Mango Tree Counseling & Consulting believes in the transformative power of relationships, building bridges, and creating change. We are committed to social justice, inclusion, and intersectionality; thus we seek to provide care to Asian/Asian American Communities as well as the larger Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) and LGBTQIA communities. Our team is comprised of folx from varying backgrounds and lived experiences.

    Values

Belonging – We strive to foster a sense of belonging to those who have felt othered, overlooked, invisible, and discarded.

Community – As a collective, we believe in the transformative power of community and seek to create and enhance the strength of the communities we belong to and care for.

Honor – We honor who you are, where you come from, where you are now, and who you hope to be. We honor the courage it takes to seek help and to turn towards your vulnerability in finding alignment.

Access – We believe strongly in creating mental health care that is accessible and address barriers that stand in the way of healing.

    What We Offer

Our counseling services include individual, couple, and group psychotherapy with licensed therapists. MTCC Counselors also facilitate Mental Wellness Seminars, which are bi-monthly workshops on a variety of topics intended to provide members with opportunities to develop skills in addressing the complex stressors that exist at the nexus of Asian American/intersectional identities.

We specialize in a number of areas, including but not limited to:

    Mood concerns

    Anxiety

    LGBTQ+ identity

    HIV/AIDS

    Interracial/interethnic relationships

    Eating disorders & body image

    Decolonization

    Intergenerational trauma & resilience

    Asian diaspora

Our consulting services consist of facilitation and training to programs, communities, and organizations that are interested in the intersection of race, class, gender, and sexuality. Our team also works with clients on developing behavioral health programming to enhance wellness and increase access to mental health care. For providers, we host monthly peer-to-peer consultation groups that center healing work in addition to the intersectionality of API identity. These group sessions are facilitated by MTCC’s founder and director, Dr. Noel B. Ramirez.
