Golden State Hospice

Golden State Hospice Services, your neighborhood health partner, was founded in late 2012 with the idea that health care is at its best when people who deliver it are from the community. Golden State, is not a chain or a corporate giant-far from it! We believe in caring for our Hospice Clients and their families. We also ensure that our clients are included in health care decisions. The word "hospice" bring up different images to many people, death and dying being predominant. But to those who have experienced hospice, they visualize a concept less tied to modern health systems and more to that old philosophy of caring that goes back to the middle ages when travelers, weary from their journey, stopped along the road and were tended to by monks at special places called hospices. At Golden State, we embrace the philosophy of caring inspired by these monks and carried through to the twentieth century in Ireland and England where the modern hospice movement began.

Hospice is a very special way of caring for people with terminal illness and their loved ones. The focus is on care and not cure. Hospice uses a team approach consisting of people with different skills, working together to plan and coordinate care. Golden State, has a mission to provide compassionate, quality end-of-life and grief support to patient and families.
