Project Laut is a dynamic social enterprise based in Nusa Penida, dedicated to marine conservation and community empowerment. At its core, the project focuses on the monitoring of hawksbill turtles, employing non-invasive techniques for tracking and studying this vital species. Alongside turtle conservation, Project Laut is deeply involved in coral restoration, utilizing innovative methods like the MARRS system to rejuvenate and protect reef ecosystems. A key aspect of its mission is professional divemaster training, where individuals are equipped with advanced diving skills and ecological knowledge, preparing them for leadership roles in marine conservation. Additionally, Project Laut places a strong emphasis on empowering local women, offering sponsorship programs that enable them to attain dive instructor qualifications and actively participate in conservation efforts. This approach not only fosters gender equality but also strengthens community involvement in environmental stewardship, making Project Laut a beacon of social and ecological impact.
