Westside Theatre

Since its renovation and opening in 1991 under the management of Reno Productions, Westside Theatre has been a place where exciting new material has been nurtured and myriad legendary productions have played on our two Off-Broadway stages.

The plan all along was to have compelling, successful commercial productions on one stage that would bring rental income to help subsidize more experimental work on the other stage. We’re proud of our record in pursuit of that goal. The ‘About Us’ page on our website lists some of the historic productions that have been presented on our stages over the past 30 years, as well as those that Westside Theatre has produced. The walls of our first and second floor stairwells are adorned with framed Playbills from some of those productions, in addition to some from the period before we managed the venue.

We are also proud to be part of a community. Many plays and musicals have been read here as works-in-progress. We’re members of the Off-Broadway League and the Off-Broadway chapter of the Broadway Green Alliance. Our Hell’s Kitchen neighbors, some co-workers, are proud of their neighborhood playhouse and delight when we have a hit production on one of our stages. Theatregoers from around the world, former Westside Theatre employees, and creative professionals who have worked in our spaces remember their experiences with us.
