Could you spare a couple hours a week to brighten someone's day when they need it most?

Be part of a special team of Encompass Volunteers. We care for our patients and their families in the place they call home - private residence, skilled nursing facility, assisted living facility, other inpatient settings.

Just a few hours a week can make a lasting impact on the lives of others.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Direct Patient Care - provide socialization, companionship and emotional support by sitting with patients, listening, reading or singing to patients, running errands, hair styling, writing letters or cards, watching movies, playing games, listening to music and a host of other activities.

Caregiver Relief - sitting with a hospice patient while their loved one runs errands, attends doctors appointments, goes to the movie/dinner or simply just gets out of the house for a break period.

Bereavement Support - making phone calls to grieving families, writing letters to families.

Administrative - Filing, copying, and answering phones at our Hospice Office. Calling patients to check on them and helping get them all tucked in before the weekend begins.
