More About Us
Global Compassion Foundation is a newly formed, community-based initiative based in Tuichawng Village, Lunglei District, Mizoram, India. The Foundation has been established with the sole purpose of improving access to education and basic opportunities for underprivileged minority Chakma children living in remote and hilly regions of Mizoram.
At present, Global Compassion Foundation is in the process of legal registration and does not yet own any land, buildings, or physical infrastructure. We believe in complete honesty and transparency from the very beginning, and therefore openly state that we are at an early stage of our journey. Before formal registration is completed, we are focusing on planning, learning, and seeking guidance to ensure that our work is ethical, sustainable, and compliant with all applicable laws.
The need for educational support in Chakma-inhabited villages such as Tuichawng and surrounding areas is urgent. Many children grow up with curiosity, intelligence, and a desire to learn, yet remain deprived of quality education due to poverty, difficult terrain, long distances to schools, and lack of basic facilities. Recognizing this reality, Global Compassion Foundation has been formed to work patiently and responsibly toward establishing a non-profit school with hostel facilities for children from remote villages.
What We Are Working Toward
Our long-term vision is to establish a non-profit educational campus that includes:
This initiative is planned as a phase-wise project, starting modestly and growing gradually based on available support, community participation, and legal compliance.
Seeking Guidance, Support, and Voluntary Help
Before registration is completed, we humbly seek guidance, encouragement, and voluntary support from kind-hearted donors, well-wishers, educators, professionals, and volunteers who share our concern for underprivileged children. Support at this stage may include planning assistance, technical guidance, material support, volunteer time, or help in preparing the essential infrastructure required for a new school, such as school buildings, hostel facilities, dining areas, and sanitation systems.
All assistance at this stage is focused on preparatory and developmental efforts, carried out with care, transparency, and respect for legal and ethical standards.
Volunteer Stay and Community Engagement
Volunteers who wish to visit Tuichawng Village for short-term or planning-related activities may be accommodated, subject to availability, at the residence of Mr. Sudip Chakma, President of Global Compassion Foundation. Staying within the community allows volunteers to better understand local realities, interact directly with families, and contribute meaningfully to early-stage planning and educational support.
We encourage all volunteers to engage with humility, cultural sensitivity, and respect for local traditions and ways of life.
Building with Honesty and Hope
Global Compassion Foundation is being built from the ground up—with honesty, humility, and responsibility. Although we currently have limited resources, we are driven by lived experience, deep commitment, and a strong belief that education can transform lives. With the guidance and support of compassionate individuals and institutions, we hope to turn this vision into a reality and create a brighter future for children who have long been left behind.
