    Description

    Block by Block Creative is seeking a Video Editor to support documentary and short-form video projects for nonprofits, conservation organizations, and mission-driven partners. This role focuses on assembling, polishing, and exporting videos across multiple platforms, with occasional light motion graphics (lower thirds, simple titles, basic animations).

    Part-time, fixed-term employment

    Approximately 24 hours per week - $40/hr

    Anticipated term: May – December

    Adobe Creative Cloud subscription provided

    Must have a Mac computer capable of running the latest version of Adobe Premiere Pro

    Responsibilities

    • Edit short-form and long-form video content (documentary, interviews, social clips
    • Sync and cut interviews and b-roll
    • Apply basic color correction and audio cleanup
    • Create light motion graphics (lower thirds, simple titles, minimal animations)
    • Export videos in multiple formats and aspect ratios (horizontal, square, vertical)
    • Implement feedback and revisions efficiently
    • Organize project files and follow established workflows
    • Apply accessibility features to video products (audio description, captions/subtitles, ASL)

    Required Qualifications

    • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro
    • Basic motion graphics skills (Premiere and/or After Effects)
    • Strong attention to detail and storytelling fundamentals
    • Ability to manage deadlines and multiple projects
    • Fluent in both English and French (spoken and written)
    • Based in Canada and legally eligible to work as an employee

    Nice to Have (but not required)

    • Experience editing documentary or nonprofit content
    • Familiarity with captioning and accessibility best practices

    Level of Language Proficiency

    Fluent / Native speakers of English & French required.
