Because we're continually building relationships with exceptional educators, this is an ongoing opportunity. We accept applications year-round and are always excited to meet experienced instructional leaders who share our mission.

When you apply, you'll be considered for current consulting opportunities. If there isn't an immediate opening, you may be invited to join our Ideal Instruction Consultant Community, a network of trusted educators we turn to first as new school partnerships and projects arise.

    About the Role

Instructional Consultants partner with teachers and school leaders to improve instructional practice and student outcomes. Working across a variety of school communities, consultants provide job-embedded coaching, facilitate professional learning, support curriculum implementation, and help schools solve complex instructional challenges.

This is a part-time, primarily in-person consulting role supporting schools throughout New York City. Most work occurs during the school day, with flexibility for remote planning and preparation.

    What You'll Do

    • Coach teachers and instructional leaders through observation, feedback, modeling, and co-planning.
    • Analyze instructional and student data to identify priorities and measure impact.
    • Support curriculum implementation and standards-aligned instruction.
    • Design and facilitate engaging professional learning.
    • Partner with school leaders to develop and implement instructional improvement plans.
    • Build strong, trust-based relationships with educators and school leadership.
    • Adapt your approach to meet the unique needs of each school while delivering exceptional client service.

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
    • 5+ years of successful K–12 teaching and/or instructional leadership experience.
    • 2+ years of instructional coaching, teacher leadership, or school leadership experience.
    • Demonstrated success improving teacher practice and student outcomes.
    • Experience designing and facilitating professional development.
    • Strong knowledge of high-quality instruction, curriculum, and data-driven decision-making.
    • Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
    • Ability to travel throughout New York City during the school day.

    Preferred

    • Expertise in ELA, Mathematics, or elementary instruction.
    • Experience in NYC public or charter schools.
    • Experience supporting curriculum implementation across multiple classrooms or schools.
