Help Nonprofits Do More Good with Technology
Every day, nonprofit organizations in the United States address the issues that matter most, yet too many struggle with outdated technology that holds them back. At Community IT, we exist to change that. We work exclusively with nonprofits, helping them use technology effectively so that their people can focus on their missions.
We're looking for an IT Business Manager to serve as a trusted partner to a portfolio of nonprofit organizations. You'll be their primary point of contact, the person who understands both their technology and their mission and helps them connect with the two. If you find fulfillment in helping others succeed and love mastering new technologies, this is the place for you.
Why Community IT
- We're 100% employee-owned since 2012. After meeting the eligibility requirements and completing the required service period, you'll become an owner, building equity in the company as you grow your career
- People stay here. Over one-quarter of our staff have been with us for more than a decade. We promote professional development, internal growth, and a healthy work/life balance.
- Our work means something. Every client we serve is a nonprofit. The better we do our jobs, the more our clients can do theirs.
What You'll Do
As an IT Business Manager on our Business IT Solutions team, you will:
- Be a trusted partner. Build strong, long-term relationships with nonprofit leaders, from individual contributors to executive directors and CFOs, as their primary point of contact with Community IT.
- Guide IT strategy and planning. Develop IT roadmaps and budgets that align technology with each organization's mission and goals and help leadership understand the business value and implications of technology decisions.
- Strengthen cybersecurity. Help clients navigate their security needs, build their cybersecurity roadmap, tailor IT policies to their organization, and coordinate with our security team when incidents arise.
- Oversee day-to-day IT management. Manage the IT lifecycle across your client portfolio, devices, user accounts, and licensing platforms such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Zoom, Slack, and Salesforce, and maintain strong client documentation.
- Prioritize nonprofit budgets. Help clients access nonprofit licensing tiers, vendor discounts, and prioritize technology.
- Coordinate great service. Work alongside our support, engineering, and client services teams to resolve issues, manage mini-projects, and guide clients through transitions smoothly.
Qualifications
- BA/BS in a business or technical discipline (information systems, engineering, computer science) and/or related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Technical acumen to troubleshoot issues and pick up new technologies quickly and independently
- Experience in interfacing and communicating with executives about information technology
- Experience working in or with nonprofit organizations
- ITIL certification or equivalent is a plus
- A genuine desire to keep learning and developing skills that strengthen client partnerships
You'll thrive in this role if you are:
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work autonomously
- A relationship builder with excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Comfortable engaging at every level of an organization, from front-line staff to the C-suite
- At ease navigating a wide range of technologies and technical disciplines
