Position Overview
MKDM, an award-winning digital and direct response fundraising and marketing agency serving nonprofit organizations nationwide, is seeking a smart, curious, and highly motivated Project Coordinator to join our team.
This is an exceptional entry-level opportunity for someone interested in marketing, communications, analytics, and making a difference through work that advances important causes. The Project Coordinator will work closely with MKDM's experienced account directors, providing hands-on support for integrated fundraising and engagement campaigns across direct mail, digital, and other marketing channels.
Unlike positions focused on a single client or narrow specialty, this role offers exposure to a variety of nonprofit organizations, campaigns, and marketing disciplines. The Project Coordinator will contribute to meaningful client work while learning the principles and practices of successful direct response marketing from seasoned agency professionals.
We're looking for someone with strong foundational skills, excellent attention to detail, an analytical mind, and an eagerness to learn. Previous agency or nonprofit experience is not required. Initiative, intellectual curiosity, and a genuine interest in marketing and mission-driven work are essential.
Responsibilities
Working under the guidance of MKDM's senior account staff, the Project Coordinator will support a variety of client projects and agency activities, including:
- Reporting and analytics: Assist with compiling campaign performance data, preparing monthly reports and presentation decks, maintaining tracking spreadsheets, and supporting analysis of fundraising and marketing results.
- Campaign coordination: Help manage project timelines, track deliverables, coordinate reviews and approvals, and facilitate revisions to campaign materials.
- Digital marketing: Support email, web, social media, and other digital fundraising campaigns, including content preparation, campaign setup and testing, quality assurance, performance tracking, and reporting.
- Creative development and production: Assist with proofreading, editing, and reviewing direct mail and digital campaign materials; coordinate with designers, production partners, and other team members.
- Research and planning: Conduct research on nonprofit organizations, audiences, marketing practices, and industry trends to support campaign planning and strategy development.
- General account team support: Provide administrative, organizational, and project support to account directors across multiple client engagements, with responsibilities evolving as skills and experience develop.
Skills and Qualifications
We're looking for a bright, capable, and intellectually curious individual with strong foundational skills and an enthusiasm for learning. Successful candidates will bring:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including excellent grammar, spelling, and proofreading abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- General computer literacy, experience working with electronic documents and files, and the ability to learn new software and systems quickly.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize competing deadlines, and follow through on commitments.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Strong mathematical aptitude and comfort working with numbers, spreadsheets, and data.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the capacity to identify inconsistencies, research questions, and develop solutions.
- Professionalism, dependability, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Initiative, resourcefulness, adaptability, and a willingness to ask questions, accept feedback, and learn from others.
- A genuine interest in marketing, communications, and supporting nonprofit organizations and their missions.
Recent college graduates and candidates beginning their professional careers are encouraged to apply. Previous marketing, agency, or nonprofit experience is not required.
