    Description

    About the Project

Crescendo International is producing a series of short, visually engaging videos to accompany a global research study on local humanitarian actors and funding systems.

The study draws on survey data from 540 organizations across 65+ countries, along with regional consultations and key informant interviews. In addition to a full report and policy briefs, we are developing 6–8 short, Instagram-optimized videos to communicate key findings to a broader audience.

    The Role

We are seeking a motion graphics designer to help translate research findings into compelling short-form videos.

This is not a traditional video editing role. We are looking for someone who can:

    • Animate data (charts, maps, key statistics)
    • Build clean, modern visual narratives
    • Create reusable templates for consistency across videos

    What You’ll Do

    • Design and produce 6–8 short videos (60–90 seconds each, vertical format)
    • Create 3–4 reusable templates for ongoing use
    • Animate charts, maps, and text-based insights
    • Incorporate light branding (fonts, colors, layout)
    • Deliver cut-down versions (15–30 seconds) for social media
    • Collaborate on refining visual storytelling (not just executing instructions)

    Style Reference

We are aiming for a clean, data-driven style similar to short-form explainer videos produced by major media outlets (e.g., New York Times style visual explainers).

    What We’re Looking For

    • Strong experience in motion graphics and short-form video
    • Demonstrated ability to animate data (charts, maps, infographics)
    • Experience with tools such as After Effects, Premiere Pro, or equivalent
    • Ability to translate complex ideas into clear visual stories
    • Interest in humanitarian, development, or policy topics is a plus

    Deliverables

    • 6–8 primary videos (60–90 seconds)
    • 2–3 cut-down clips per video
    • Reusable editable templates
    • Source files for future adaptation

    Timeline

April – May (flexible, but aligned with report finalization in early June)

    Budget

Please include your proposed rate (hourly or per video). We are open to different structures based on experience and scope.

    How to Apply

    Please share:

    • Portfolio (especially motion graphics / explainer videos)
    • 2–3 relevant examples of similar work
    • Brief note on your approach to visual storytelling for data or policy content
    • Availability over the next 6–8 weeks

    Level of Language Proficiency

Some of the videos will be translated into French, Spanish and Arabic.
