We are a unique accounting firm. First, all of our work is offered exclusively to nonprofits. Second, instead of performing audits (which require that the CPA firm be "independent" of management), we work as an adjunct to management, helping our clients make decisions about accounting and compliance matters that affect their nonprofit, so that they can concentrate on serving the mission. In addition to the familiar year-end work of preparing the financial statements and Form 990 tax return, we also work with our clients to close the books properly and prepare for their audit if they have one, to improve the functionality of their accounting systems (most of our clients use QuickBooks, and we have created a number of mechanisms to make it work well for nonprofits), to develop policies & procedures, to craft budgets, and to provide training of staff, management, and boards as needed. We also provide bookkeeping support to our clients that need it. Third, our focus is on long-term relationships, in which we partner with our clients to manage change over long periods.
